CAUTION: Be careful when identifying the non-native invasive oriental bittersweet, not to confuse it with the native vine American bittersweet, a much less aggressive grower! Oriental bittersweet has flowers and fruit growing all along the length of the vine, while American bittersweet only has flowers and fruit growing at the growing tip of the vine. While oriental bittersweet should be removed from natural areas, American bittersweet should not.
